The training tests are divided in separate grade bands and content areas in the following manner:

  • Math

RISE Training Tests

(Recommended for all users prior to benchmarks, Interim, and/or Summative assessments)

Purpose:

  • Familiarize students and teachers with the design, format, and procedures for answering the different types of items that will be included in the RISE assessments
  • Verify all accommodations and resources applied to individual students are applied and work correctly prior to taking the RISE Summative assessments
  • Certify that local technology configuration can successfully deliver RISE assessments via the secure browser

Features:

  • Aligned to Utah Core Standards within a grade span (see list of available content and grade spans)
  • Not predictive of summative performance—will not measure students’ content knowledge
  • Designed to allow users to experiment with the assessment tools and test functionality

RISE Science Practice Tests

Purpose:

  • To familiarize students, teachers, and parents with RISE content, item types, and the user interface

Features:

  • Includes a variety of item formats and a range of difficulty that students may see on RISE Summative assessments
  • Not predictive of summative performance
